Rihanna in Italian Vogue

Rihanna sent many tongues wagging with her recent spread in Italian Vogue. Some marvelled at how good the Good Girl Gone Bad singer looked while others questioned her image.

Now my take on this is simple. Leave the girl alone!!

If she were walking the street in these clothes I would have a serious problem with it (like I did when she was in Vegas a few months ago ) however, based on the context of this shoot, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

She modelled in a haute couture magazine for a fashion sector (Europe) that goes crazy for images like these. When Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks or Giselle Bunchen model this type of clothing no one questions their tact or their images but I find that her "homebodies" are always quick to say something about what they perceive as her negative image.

Vogue is one of the biggest high fashion magazines in the world, coupled with the fact that this version of the mag is marketed to the European market, I think she made an excellent showing for how beautiful Caribbean women are.

Chris Brown Issues an Apology

Holy Smokes!!!!

After waiting 5 months since the incident occurred, Chris Brown has finally made a statement with regards to the Rihanna incident. He is blaming his delay in commenting on his lawyers who wanted him to have the legal aspect over before he made any form of a statement.

My question is, how genuine is this statement, it's obviously rehearsed and repeated so does it come from his heart or is this his way of making sure he still has any semblance of a fan base going forward?

Many persons still feel he got a slap on the wrist with his community service and no real jail time, but do we honestly believe that Chris is regretful that his anger and temper got the best of him or is he more upset that his anger and temper were exposed???

I guess we will never know.

Busy Bee Rihanna

Rihanna started the week in the Phillipines and ended it in Los Angeles after touching NYC in between. The Umbrella singer was seen in LA at the Nokia Theatre rehearsing for her performance at the American Music Awards this Sunday night.

She seems to be holding nothing back for her performance which is expected to be explosive.

Rihanna was also in NYC this week for a dinner hosted by Gucci to launch their Tattoo Heart Collection which benefits UNICEF.

This dinner came on the heels of the 2008 UNICEF Snowflake Lighting in New York City.

Rihanna is the spokesperson for Gucci's Tattoo Heart Collection.

Rihanna is Vogue 2008

Rihanna did a really good performance of Madonna's 1990 hit Vogue.

This was very surprising to me because I saw the VMA performance of Disturbia and was disappointed. Rihanna sounded tired and out of breath, not sure if it was because that performance was actually live. Not saying that the vogue performance was enhanced but there was a noticeable difference.

However, I'm sure Madonna would have been pleased by Rih-Rih's version.

Rihanna Is Broke!!!!

... at least that is the word from an ousted accountant who seems to have had one too many bottles of haterade.

Rihanna's ex-accountant claims that the Grammy award winner has only $20,000 left to her name due to the old adage of "you have to spend money to make money".

Patricia Williams, the disgruntled accountant, claims that despite Rihanna making millions through her various endorsements, appearances and album sales, the singer had to spend most of that money on videos and production. Williams went on to speak about Marc Jordan, Rihanna's PR agent:

“I don’t want to disrespect Marc’s name. He is a fantastic manager and genuinely believes in Rihanna. But he uses her money to fund her future projects because he believes he can break her in the world-market. Her album sales are not nearly as close to her single sales and he knows that if she is only known as a ’singles artist’ she will only be as good as her last hit."

From my perspective it seems to me that Rihanna has already broken into the "world market". In case Williams had not realised, Rihanna spends more time outside of the US than ever before so if there is more to the world than that please let me know.

Also, my very informed sources (yes I have sources now) tell me this is all a lie. Rihanna has financial resources that she has not yet started to utilise...i.e stop telling lies about the girl.

Besides, if i were poor (which I am), I would not love shopping nearly as much as this girl does. Nor would I fly everyone of my family members and my best friends to visit me, just because I missed them. So the proof I guess is in the pudding.

Rihanna and Chris go Grocery Shopping

Now I can never understand why when people do not want to be seen together they decide to walk a few steps apart from each other. After all, it's not as though they will end up in the same picture or anything???!?!?!

Rihanna and Chris were spotted around LA doing being all domesticated as they went grocery shopping together. The twosome tried to make it look as though they arrived separately but they were the only ones who thought it would work.

Apparently though no one let Chris' mum know she was supposed to help keep the secret. Mama Joyce Hawkins recently stated that Rihanna is “the sexiest and sweetest girl Chris has ever dated”.

Chris laughed off his mum's slip up by saying "Yeah yeah, she’s real cool. They’re both light skin with green eyes, so…!” (when asked if his mum liked Rihanna).

Rihanna looked radiant in yellow last night at the BET Awards. The "Disturbia" singer walked the red carpet, sat next to Chris Brown AND performed her No. 1 single Take A Bow.

Ms. Fenty looked flawless from make-up right down and I'm sure that if I had seen her shoes, I would think they were cute too.

Rihanna didn't walk away with any awards but I'm sure it didn't matter to her especially since she looked so nice.

Rihanna is Today...well Yesterday

Rihanna performed Friday morning at NBC studios for the Today show and she had the crowd going wild. Rihanna, who looked like she was auditioning for a roll in the Nutcracker, performed three songs for the crowd, Take A Bow, Don't Stop The Music and Umbrella.

While in my mind she still isn't the strongest vocally, she has proven that she knows how to work a crowd.

Rihanna spoke about being an ambassador for Barbados. She said:

“I am the official ambassador for cultural youth, which is perfect for me because I love dealing with young people. Barbados will always be home. They’re very, very supportive. They’re my backbone. It’s where I started. I couldn’t ask for a better place to grow up in.”

And lets talk about sister girl's choice of shoes....HELLO!!!!! Now those are class if ever I did see it.

Rihanna is Carrying the Name of Fashion too Far

Ok normally for me Rihanna is a hit or miss...my opinion now...is...i prefer Rosci's (below) shoes. Rihanna continued her promotional run with an appearance on 106 and Park.

The Bajan girl recently declared
her new single Disturbia to be the 'song of summer'.

Rihanna should know about summer hits as her singles Pon De Replay (2005), SOS (2006) and Umbrella (2007) all had summer success. Disturbia was written by rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown.

NYC is Enjoying Rihanna

....But from the look of this first picture it seems to be a one-sided affair. Rihanna has been in NYC on a major promotional run for the re-release of her album and looks to be just about over it. Either that or it was a really bad picture...unfortunately that seems more like it.

The Barbadian ambassador has been nominated in the catefories of “Best R&B Artist”, “Best Female Artists”, “Best Single for Don’t Stop the Music”, and “Female Hottie” for this year's Teen Choice Awards.

Rihanna has definitely been busy recently. The singer stopped by TRL on Tuesday to promote the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad wearing some ultra-hottttttt boots. I'm not sure I understand what look she was aiming for but I commend the effort. However,I am completely loving the new hair.

Ri-Ri proudly showed off her Halle Berry-esque haircut and colour at the MuchMusic Awards this past Sunday in Canada.

The Good Girl Gone Bad walked away with two awards - Best Internationa Video for Don't Stop the Music and MuchMusic.com Most Watched Video for Umbrella.

Rihanna re-released her hit album Good Girl Gone Bad:Reloaded today (Tuesday) and perfomed her new single from the CD, Take A Bow at the awards show.

I'm always curious to see what celebrities wear when they travel and here Rihanna is able to pull off comfortably chic as she arrives at LAX to catch a flight. The singer looked cute in her designer jeans and cropped jacket but was still able to make it comfy with her sneakers.

Before catching her flight, Rihanna indulged in some retail therapy with Chris Brown in tow. The two reportedly recently bought each other jewelry.

Christ spent $100,000 on two ruby and diamond necklaces Rihanna while she reportedly returned the thought with a diamond cross pendant necklace for him.

Much as these two try to deny it there's always evidence to suggest otherwise. Rihanna and her beau Chris Brown attended the MTV Movie Awards over the weekend where they sat next to Benji Madden and Paris Hilton (not pictured).

Rihanna was there to support Chris who performed with the show's host Mike Myers.

Now let's talk about my girl Ri-Rih's dress. Not one of her best choices. It's just not flattering any part of her. Her hair and nails are still on though which is always a plus.

Barbadian born Rihanna is poised to make the most of all the opportiunities she's been given. There's buzz that she is set to play a part in Mama Black Widow with Kerry Washington.

"Set in the 1930's, the movie directed by Darren Grant will be centering its story on the migration of a black family from the segregated southern Mississippi to the Chicago's degrading black community. The story resolves around Otis Tilson as he fights to keep his family together in spite of alcoholism, pimping, sexual deviation and racial degradation circulating around them."

Sounds pretty good for our Ri-Ri. Hope she can deliver it.

Rihanna released her new video for the single Take A Bow. I still haven't decided if I like the song, but the video is pretty decent. Rihanna just seems to be everywhere now.

I absolutely love it when celebrities are seen doing things that non-celebrities partake in daily and this is no exception.

Rihanna was seen at the Beverly Centre is Los Angeles over the weekend with her best friend (not pictured) getting her fill of KFC. I love it. Now I don't have to feel too guilty about the snack box i had last weekend.
While I'm absolutely loving the Marilyn Monroe T-shirt and the punk rock bracelet Rih has been wearing of late, I'm not sure that she has completely sold me on her pink and black, 1980's polka dot scarf but it seems to be working for her. Rih-Rih was later seen sans the KFC (but unfortuantely still with the scarf) at LAX. She always looks so relaxed and happy and doesn't seem to care who likes or dislikes her style choices.

Rihanna had the most adorable date for lunch today. After what I'm sure was a very lovely meal (only the best for Ri-Ri), Rihanna headed to a recording studio to do what she does best.

Despite the fact that both Ri-Ri and Chris Brown have been trying to drill in everyone's head that they are just friends, Jordin Sparks may have gone and spilled the beans for these undercover lovers.

Jordin, who currently has a duet with Chris, revealed in an UK magazine Young Voices this month that Chirs and Rihanna are in a relationship.

Yeah, they are. It was really cool because I walked on the set and she was sitting there with Chris Brown and I was like I can’t believe she’s here. She came and she told me that she loved No Air, and that it was one of her favourite songs. It was really cool hearing that from one of my peers. She just wanted to support him.

Did it feel weird doing intimate scenes with Chris Brown with his girlfriend watching you?

(Laughs) It was hard at first, but then I said, ‘you know what? I have to work!’ It had to look like I was in love with him, so I had to do it. Hopefully she won’t kill me!! (Laughs)
