The Obamas Celebrate Thanksgiving

Happy Holidays Y'all!!!!

I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving but for all those who did, I hope that it was truly memorable.

The Obamas spent the day handing out turkey dinners to those who are less fortunate at a Church Food Bank in Chicago.

The girls seemed to have had a good time and Mr. President-Elect himself also seems to be enjoying the afternoon.

There is just something about this man that oozes charisma and it becomes very evident in all of his family pictures.

Madonna Admits that Divorce is Hard

Madonna has admitted to feeling down and depressed due to her impending divorce from Guy Ritchie.

"I’m sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life."

She added about how being on tour has made the pain at least a bit more bearable,

“It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do.” She adds that the concert "provides a distraction that keeps me going.”

I can't imagine how she must feel having this very private affair happen so publicly. At least she finds comfort in something she enjoys doing.

Twilight Part 2 Gets the Green Light

Twilight opened to HUGE numbers this weekend with an opening of $70.6 Million to open at number one.

This opening was so big that it's sequel New Moon is already in the works and stars Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had a message for their fans.



They would be absolutely insane not to make a sequel after the weekend this movie had. It's like Harry Potter all over again. Yes I realise I'm making a lot of HP comparisons but how could you not. The teen consumers have spoken and they want magic and mystery.

Rounding out the top three movies this weekend were Quantum of Solace, No. 2 with $27.4 million, while Miley Cyrus' Disney film, Bolt, claimed third place, with $27 million.

AMA Performances

Sasha Fierce had hands down the most energetic performance of the night. That girl works haaarrd for her money and truth be told I can tell the difference between the regular Beyonce and her stage ego Sasha.

Rihanna looked fierce herself but somehow the cosutme didn't quite seem necessary for her Rehab performance. What would have made my night though was if the night's 'Surprise Guest', Justin Timberlake came out to provide backing vocals for her.




















What I will say though is that I would have much better preferred if Rihanna had worn her relaxed version of the performance costume to the show rather than the dress that she did wear.





Ne-yo did his own version of Dirty Dancing as her performed a medley of Closer and Miss Independent.












Pink performed her new single Sober while Leona did a very pretty rendition of Better In Time.

AMA Recap

Last night was the big American Music Awards show and that transalated to big performances during the 3 hour event.

I was more concerned about the red carpet fashion though.

Alicia Keys looked stunning; to me she had the best dress of the night and the classiest look of the night.

Leona Lewis looked cute in a frilly, sequened silver dress. I love Leona because despite the fact that she has one of the most powerful voices in recent times (her whistle register is phenomenal), she is sooo unassuming in her presence. There's a shyness about it that's quite endearing.

The Jonas Brothers have a great stylist. They always look sooo put together.

Rih-Rih disappointed me. She reminded me of a potato sack. An expensive sack but one none the less.




Miley Cyrus celebrated her 16th birthday yesterday but she looked a lot older than that. She's barely 16, I think she should spend more time enjoying her youth. Seriously. She looked nice but she could have looked younger.












Pink cleaned up beautifully and looked very elegant in both her arrival gown and her performance gown. She really classed it up.












Christina Aguilera wore a nice dress. I'm not however sure it was the right dress for her. It paled her skin out a bit too much and showed that she's not quite as endowed as she was just a few months ago post baby. Still a dress I would want in my closet though.

New Kids on the Block put down a performance at the AMA's last night that gave me chills each time the took me through memory lane.

I was literally screaming at the TV with excitement. After all this time they still got the right stuff!!!!

Twilight Mania

Twilight fever has hit in a huge way. I don't think there has ever been this much buzz about a teen book series (Harry Potter doesn't count - it's in a category all on it's own). Even Tyra wanted a bite from everyone's favourite vampire, Robert Pattinson.

Harry Potter fans would remember Robert as the ill-fated Cedric Diggory but he has found his own following as the 100 year olde vampire from the Stephanie Meyer teen series Twilight.

Twilight opened Friday at midnight and is expected to take in $70 million this weekend at the box office.

Pretty good for a teen series.

Robert and his co-star Taylor Lautner will be on the November 28 episode of the Tyra show.

Britney Reloaded

Britney Spears really seems to have it all together again in these promo shots for her album Circus due out in Decemeber. I mean seriously, I can't honestly remember seeing Brit look this good in at least 2 years. Her team really is putting in the extra effort to make sure she gets back on top of her game.

Will she be everyone's fave pop princess again? Who knows. But at least she's trying.

Busy Bee Rihanna

Rihanna started the week in the Phillipines and ended it in Los Angeles after touching NYC in between. The Umbrella singer was seen in LA at the Nokia Theatre rehearsing for her performance at the American Music Awards this Sunday night.

She seems to be holding nothing back for her performance which is expected to be explosive.

Rihanna was also in NYC this week for a dinner hosted by Gucci to launch their Tattoo Heart Collection which benefits UNICEF.

This dinner came on the heels of the 2008 UNICEF Snowflake Lighting in New York City.

Rihanna is the spokesperson for Gucci's Tattoo Heart Collection.

Four Christmases Premiere

Reese Witherspoon looked like a darling at the Hollywood premiere of her holiday movie Four Christmases. The movie, due November 26, is about:

"A couple struggles to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day."

Kristen Chenoweth and Minnie Driver were also at the premiere. I love how the red carpet was made into a Winter Wonderland themed event. Makes the reason for the premiere all the more real.

Ashlee Simpson Wentz Popped!!!

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have welcomed the newest addition to their family - son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz. The baby boy was born on November 20th with a weight of 7 lbs., 11 oz., and 20 1/2 inches long.

Now this is an interesting celebrity baby name if ever there was one. The Simpson-Wentz clan obviously has a deep affection for Disney as their wedding had an Alice in Wonderland theme and their baby shower was a Winnie the Pooh theme. So I'm guessing that Mowgli pays homage to the Jungle Book. Bronx...well I haven't quite figured that one out yet.

Congrats to the family on their bundle of joy.

Paris and Benji Call It Quits after Nine Months

Truth be told this relationship lasted nine months longer than I thought it would have. They just never seemed to fit despite how much Paris claimed she had found the man of her dreams and her best friend. To me it was always Nicole found love with Joel so she could try to make it work with Benji.

Paris told Ryan Seacrest this week that the pair still loves each other and Benji's “an incredible person. We’ll always be very close. We’ll see what happens in the future. I’m still in love with him.”

She went on to say that they still hear each other daily and still see each other just that the timing right now is not right due to the directions that their careers are headed.

After news of the break-up hit, Paris was seen at popular LA eatery Mr. Chow with her sister Nicky.

Sasha Fierce and Jigga Named Richest Celeb Couple

A new Forbes list has named Beyonce and husband Jay-Z the richest celebrity couple for fiscal period July 2007 - June 2008. The couple amassed a total of $182 Million over this period to end at the top spot.

Jay-Z earned $82 million from his $150 million 10-year deal with concert promoter Live Nation and his wife, Beyonce, raked in $80 million for the year from her business ventures in fashion, film, and music.

Jay and Bey made almost twice as much as Will and Jada who came in at number 2 with $85 Million.

Blake Lively turns 21 XOXO

Blake Lively paid homage to the "roaring 20's" by having a 1920's themed 21st birthday party. Blake, who turned 21 on Aug 25, held the soiree on Sept 6 at the New York Palace Hotel.

Life and Style got the party exclusive from the event which had a guest list that included Blake's Gossip Girls cast mates and boyfriend/co-star Penn Badgley as well as James Franco and Michael Buble who seranded the lass with Happy Birthday.

Blake also revealed to the mag that if she were not an actress she would be an event planner;

“I love to plan parties,” Blake tells Life & Style.

Us Against The World

I have been a Westlife fan for just about 9 years now and to this day I still remember how i felt when I first heard If I Let You Go on Love FM and then saw the video a couple months after the fact. I also remember they were like Europe's answer to the Backstreet Boys - but with sexier accents.

They have never reached Backstreet popularity in the US but in Europe and especially the UK they are the end all to pop music.

To this day I still cry when I hear a new Westlife song because they are usually so pure in voice and lyrics.

This is the most recent video they released that brought me to tears. It's a Thank You of sorts to their fans like me.

Who's the Daddy????

This seems to be the #1 question on the lips of ppl who have started watching what is soon to be a cult hit 90210. I've had many conversations this week about who Kelly's baby's daddy could be and I've narrowed it down to one person.

Steve Sanders.

Why you ask?? Because it's the obviously not obvious choice. Brandon would be too obvious and Dylan even more so especially since the original 90210 ended with Kelly and Dylan together again.

Plus lets face it, out of Jason Priestley, Luke Perry and Ian Ziering, which of the three may be the most 'struggling' actor?

After his stint on Dancing with the Stars he's had a couple of hosting gigs but I have not heard much about much else. So that is my theory. Steve is the daddy.

Whoever the daddy is will be revealed on this week's episode so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Rebecca Romjin is definitely Preggers

Former model and actress Rebecca Romjin made her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy in July.

Rebecca and her husband Jerry O'Connell are expecting twin girls later this year. Being big, blonde and beautiful hasn't stopped her from taking some time out to shop and eat however. The X-Men actress was seen lunching at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills.

The Tiz has the cutest little puppy!!!

Ashley Tisdale and her boyfriend, boybander Jared Murillo were spotted at LAX this past Friday.

Now I'm not a huge Ashley Tisdale fan, as her fanbase is just a tad bit younger than I am, I must admit she was good in High School Musical which of course I only watched because my mean little sister made me (at least thats what I tell myself would have happened if I had a sister to make myself feel better about watching it).

I am however a huge fan of her pet pooch. She is simply adorable.

Kanye West Arrested

Kanye was arrested Thursday after an altercation with a paparazzo at LAX International Airport. He was charged with vandalism after supposedly damaging a paparazzo’s camera that was valued at $10,000.

I really don't get the impression that much is going to come of this. The paparazzi carry these things too far sometimes and they get to close just to get a good shot. If your camera can be damaged by the celebrity - then you are too close. Deal with it.

Rihanna is Vogue 2008

Rihanna did a really good performance of Madonna's 1990 hit Vogue.

This was very surprising to me because I saw the VMA performance of Disturbia and was disappointed. Rihanna sounded tired and out of breath, not sure if it was because that performance was actually live. Not saying that the vogue performance was enhanced but there was a noticeable difference.

However, I'm sure Madonna would have been pleased by Rih-Rih's version.
